Skin Changes That Are Worth a Doctor's Opinion

A mole or spot that's changing — in size, shape, color, or border — is one of the more important patterns to have looked at, since change over time is more meaningful than how a spot looks in a single moment. The same goes for a sore or patch that doesn't heal within a few weeks.
Other reasonable reasons to get a skin concern checked: a rash that's spreading, unusually itchy, or came with fever; sudden acne changes in an adult that don't respond to usual care; or any skin issue that's affecting your confidence or daily life enough that you'd like a professional opinion on realistic options.
An online consultation works well for an initial look at most visible skin concerns — a clear photo in good lighting goes a long way — with an in-person visit recommended if closer examination is needed.
