Early Warning Signs of Type 2 Diabetes You Shouldn't Ignore

Early type 2 diabetes symptoms are often mild enough to explain away: feeling unusually thirsty, urinating more frequently (especially at night), persistent tiredness, blurred vision, or cuts and wounds that seem to take longer than usual to heal.
Family history, being overweight, high blood pressure, and a sedentary lifestyle all raise your risk — if several of these apply to you alongside any of the symptoms above, it's worth getting a fasting blood sugar or HbA1c test rather than waiting for symptoms to worsen.
Catching prediabetes or early diabetes early matters because diet, activity, and sometimes medication can meaningfully change the trajectory before complications develop. If any of this sounds familiar, a Lab Request followed by a consultation is a reasonable first step.
